Why Alabang

If BGC is the modern CBD and Makati is the cultural CBD, Alabang is the suburb that grew up. Located in Muntinlupa at the southern edge of Metro Manila, Alabang offers more space, more greenery, and lower prices — without sacrificing infrastructure quality.

For families, especially those with school-age kids, Alabang is often the smarter buy. You get a full lifestyle ecosystem (mall, hospital, schools, parks, business park) for 30-40% less than equivalent BGC pricing.

The Sub-Districts

Alabang is really a collection of distinct master-planned communities:

Filinvest City

Master-planned business and residential district. Festival Mall, Northgate (BPO offices), modern condos. Walkable core.

Ayala Alabang Village

The premium gated village. Houses only, multi-million-peso properties, top private schools inside. The South's Forbes Park.

Hillsborough

Smaller upscale subdivision near Festival Mall. Mix of houses and townhouses, established families.

Madrigal Business Park

BPO + commercial offices, with adjacent residential condos. Convenient for work-from-anywhere lifestyles.

Cuenca / South Forbes

Adjacent to Alabang Village. Quieter residential pockets with houses and small condos.

Lifestyle & Dining

Alabang's lifestyle revolves around two anchors: Festival Mall (massive, affordable, family-oriented — cinemas, supermarket, food courts) and Alabang Town Center / Westgate (upscale dining, Power Plant-like vibe, Crate & Barrel, Rustan's).

For dining, Alabang has come a long way. Westgate restaurants rival mid-tier BGC. Molito Lifestyle Center and Commerce Center add more options. You won't find Manila's edgiest fine dining here, but you'll eat well.

For nightlife, the scene is mellow — wine bars, casual hangouts. Anyone wanting a real night out drives to BGC or Makati.
